Located in the heart of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Little Tokyo & Saigon masterfully blends Vietnamese and Asian flavors into a vibrant culinary experience that delights both the palate and the soul. Whether you’re craving the satisfying warmth of Seafood Pho or the savory punch of Basil Chicken, each dish bursts with fresh ingredients and traditional spices that transport diners straight to the bustling streets of Vietnam and Japan.
One of the standout features of Little Tokyo & Saigon is their exceptional Phở / Noodle Soup selection. From the hearty Phở Gà brimming with tender shredded chicken and rich chicken broth, to the nourishing Phở Rau Cải Đậu Hủ that celebrates fresh garden vegetables alongside lightly fried tofu, the soups are a comforting hug in a bowl. The seafood and shrimp variations are equally impressive, offering delicate balances of flavor and texture that even self-proclaimed pho aficionados, like customer Sean Devine, praise highly.
The dining atmosphere perfectly complements the food’s authenticity. According to Bé Nguyễn Boonsalat, the restaurant’s décor evokes the feeling of dining al fresco in Vietnam, with charming huts lining the walls adding an intimate and culturally immersive touch. Clean, spacious, and comfortable, Little Tokyo & Saigon invites guests to relax and savor every bite while enjoying attentive, friendly service. Jennifer Quinlivan highlights this with rave remarks for their server Xiauthrus, underscoring the attentive care that enhances the overall experience.
The diversity on the menu ensures something for every craving: sushi lovers will appreciate the freshness of selections like the Rare Steak Pho and Raw Tuna, while fans of hearty noodles can indulge in favorites such as Singapore Noodles and Beef Lo Mein. Thirst-quenching drinks like the famous Coconut Bubble Tea, Mai Tai, and robust Vietnamese Coffee provide the perfect complement to these bold flavors.
Multiple reviewers, including Stacy Barnaby, praise the careful attention to temperature and freshness, noting that every meal is served piping hot and bursting with flavor. Friendly staff and consistent quality make Little Tokyo & Saigon a standout destination in Portsmouth’s dining scene for Asian cuisine lovers looking for both authenticity and a welcoming atmosphere.
In essence, Little Tokyo & Saigon offers a culinary journey that blends traditional Vietnamese and Japanese comfort foods with a warm, inviting setting and attentive service—making it a must-visit spot for anyone eager to discover the rich, layered tastes of Asia right in the heart of Portsmouth.
I am a pho snob and this has easily become my favorite spot. I get the rare steak pho and they also have really great portions of steak. Coconut Bubble tea / shake is also 10/10
I highly recommend this restaurant whenever you are in the portsmouth area. The sushi is very good. I love their Singapore noodles too! Everything is hot and fresh and the restaurant is clean and comfortable. The service is great too.
Glad we decided to stop here. Atmosphere: Loving their decor. It definitely gives me a feeling of Vietnam and being outside. Clean, and enough space to eat. I like how the tables along the walls have their own little hut. Food: DELICIOUS! My family really like it. Other Vietnamese and Japanese food, they also have Lo Mien and Chinese food on their menu. I think it's time they update their menu since it looks like a confused menu. 1. #47 & $80 Hai to Bun thit nuong/2 different vermicelli bowls: Pork/shrimp/eggs rolls and a beef bowl 2. #54 salt & pepper batter shrimp 3. Celtic roll 4. Dragon roll 5. Gyoza - this one is ok.... 6. Beef salad - beef was too cooked for me Service: there was only 1 server/waitress since we came in (when they opened till 12:30PM). She did her best serving a lot of guests. I highly recommend this place.
Food is absolutely delicious, service is always amazing and staff are super friendly and helpful with the menu. (Food shown is Chicken and Garlic sauce and Sushi Love)
Our server Xiauthrus was outstanding. Best service in awhile. Food was fast and delicious. PHO was a little salty with not enough broth but overall out experience was great. Prices are very reasonable.
Server was very attentive and helpful. The menu is massive, but the food is great. You can get a massive variety of eastern Asian dishes, and even more in there. It's the biggest menu of a restaurant I have seen.
One of my favorite places on the outskirts of town. Excellent pho, delicious sushi. The owner is always warm and welcoming.
